Art

I like to draw abstract stuff but I am not very good at it.

But that shouldn’t stop anyone pushing forward with things they enjoy.

A couple that have been started:

My most recently finished piece is a play on the idea of two very different souls meeting. The use of metallic inks gave this some real pop. It is hard to gauge size in the photo but it is A3.

Prior to that, the most recently finished big piece is called ‘Influence’. That might sound wanky, but it really just captures that each of the elements is influenced by what is near it. It is a practice piece, in essence, for helping me work out ways to blend detailed elements for future pieces. I am quite happy with how this turned out. I’ve included framed and not-framed pictures so you can see just how much a good framing benefits the piece.

Previously, the last finished piece was a voyage through the void. It is primarily gold glitter pen on black cardboard, with some silver, purple, green and matte gold highlights. It is very hard to pick up on camera and frankly it’s kinda hard to see, even in person. But I am happy with the final product. It has been framed and gifted, but I haven’t yet got any good pictures of it in its frame (it is a very hard piece to photograph). The photo below remains the best one thus far.

And finally, the piece that I finished after years of work, was an attempt to explore the concept of masculine and feminine but it is also just a nice representation of light/dark, good/evil, chaos/order. I was really glad to finish it as it took me a very long time. I can’t say that I am super vibed about the outcome but having contemplated abandoning it many times, I was glad to finally get it to the point that I deemed it finished. I’ve included framed and unframed pictures for reference. Not sure I’d separate them if I had it framed again.

If you are after some past pieces — here is a selection of my better pieces from the past.
